Appropriate disposal f used television monitors and digital display devices has become a major concern in the current era. Such devices contain harmful and hazardous substances including, heave metals like arsenic, mercury, cadmium, and lead.
Recycling procedures enable the safe and appropriate disposal of such devices that could pose a risk to the environment. However, it is only possible if these devices are recycled following regulations. Many informal recyclers collect these items, dump them on empty land, and follow open burning procedures.
Flat Panel TV Recycling (LCD/ LED/ TFT)
The latest inclusions to television technology consist of LCD, LED, and TFT, for back panels and other display items. These devices need to be disposed in an appropriate manner due to the inclusion of high amounts of mercury in fluorescent lamps used in them.
